Istria Is My Inspiration: Crafting Luxury Destination Weddings in Croatia
Recently, I had the honor of sharing my story in the prestigious lifestyle magazine 100% Istria, known for featuring inspiring people and projects from the worlds of design, gastronomy, fashion, and tourism. It was a joy to talk about my passion, creating luxury destination weddings, and to reveal why Istria remains my eternal muse.
As the founder of LF Weddings and LF Catering, I live and create every day in an environment that fuels my imagination. Istria is my home, my stage, and my endless source of ideas. True luxury is not about sparkle, it’s about intention.
I find inspiration in small but powerful moments: a child’s laughter, the colors of nature, details others might overlook but that can transform a space into pure magic. My two daughters constantly remind me that the world becomes more beautiful when we see it with curiosity, playfulness, and fearless imagination.
As a wedding planner in Istria, I design each celebration around the couple’s personality, creating authentic experiences that reflect their unique love story. I’m especially drawn to breathtaking locations beyond the expected, places that allow us to create something truly one-of-a-kind.
From Pula to International Spotlights
My journey into destination weddings began spontaneously, but I quickly realized I had found my life’s vocation. A defining moment was a conversation with Denis Ivošević from the Istria Tourist Board, followed by attending the Destination Wedding Planners Congress in Florence, an experience that opened an entirely new world for me.
Istria is the perfect setting for a luxury wedding: vineyards, stone villas, historic towns, Mediterranean landscapes, but most importantly, it has passionate, dedicated, and innovative people.
One project that brought my team and me global recognition was a spectacular Indian wedding at the Pula Amphiteatre. Collaborating with American partners and numerous local experts led to a feature in Harper’s Bazaar. It was a production that required flawless organization, precise logistics, and deep respect for a historic venue.
Equally unforgettable was an emotional African wedding at the Historical and Maritime Museum of Istria, a beautiful fusion of two cultures in a harmony that can’t be planned, only felt.
How a Dream Wedding Comes to Life
Every project begins with a sincere conversation. I want to truly understand my couples, their wishes, energy, and vision. From there, I build a personalized concept that aligns with the location, aesthetics, and atmosphere.
On the wedding day, everything runs confirm like a perfectly tuned mechanism. My team works behind the scenes so couples and guests can forget about logistics and fully embrace the moment.
An unforgettable wedding is born from the harmony of emotion, design, and experience, from scenography to music, from menu to the smallest meaningful detail.
As both an event planner in Istria and an event planner in Croatia, I approach each celebration as a full sensory journey.
Sustainability as a Standard, Not a Trend
At LF Weddings, sustainability is not a passing trend, it’s a responsibility.
We collaborate with trusted local suppliers, choose seasonal and indigenous ingredients, use reusable décor elements, and optimize logistics to reduce our carbon footprint. One initiative I’m especially proud of is donating floral arrangements after events, because beauty should continue to bring joy long after the celebration ends.
A growing trend I see shaping the future is the rise of micro-weddings: intimate, deeply personalized events that focus on experience rather than guest count.
Looking Ahead: Elevating Istria on the Global Wedding Map
My vision is to continue positioning Istria among the world’s most prestigious destinations for luxury, authentic weddings. I plan to discover and activate new venues that have never been used for celebrations before—places with the potential to redefine industry standards.
Collaboration with international colleagues is also key. By bringing global professionals to Istria, they can experience firsthand the beauty and possibilities this region offers.
My ultimate goal remains the same: to create moments that leave a lasting impression—not only on couples and their guests, but also on the destination itself, raising its reputation and emotional value worldwide.
This story, first shared in 100% Magazine, was an opportunity to present my world and my mission. And for me, every new project is another page in that story, a story where Istria will always be the greatest inspiration, and where every wedding in Istria becomes a timeless memory.
